Hi Product Hunt 👋, I'm Nik, founder of Omi. Omi is the best way to ask AI about your own life.
Why this exists
Two years ago I launched Omi as a small pendant that remembers your conversations. The most common request was: "I want omi to know more about my life". So we built omi for your computer. Omi now sees your computer screen, hears your meetings, and answers from what you actually did.
🔥 How it worksDownload Omi for Mac: https://omi.me/macosIt captures your screen and your meetings (Zoom, Meet, Slack huddles, in person) in the backgroundHold the button in any app and ask it anythingThings people ask it"What did I discuss in the last meeting?""Give me a feedback on my design""Help me, I'm stuck in this game""What was I doing yesterday?""Help me write a twitter post""Draft the follow-up from my 2pm."Every answer shows where it came from. The meeting, the time, the screen. You can go check.
What's in 1.0Answers from your actual screen and audio history, with citationsOne hotkey, works in any app, voice or textMemories: search everything you've seen and heard by person or dateNotifications when something you saw or heard comes up againLocal-first and open source. Code is at github.com/BasedHardware/omiFree to startWhat we optimize for
I promised a lot with the first Omi. This one keeps the promise. It exists because of the open-source community that merged 1,600+ pull requests this year.
Try it and tell me what's broken. I read everything.

Okay the screen context is the part that got me. Meeting notes are useful, but being able to ask “where did I see that design yesterday?” and actually get the screen + timestamp back is a completly different thing.
Also really glad you made it local first, because otherwise this would be a pretty hard sell for me. How easy is it to pause it or exclude specific apps? really impressive work Nik @kodjima33

Well, now I have to say this was extremely nice to wake up to, as I have an insane day ahead of me. I'm seriously looking for a better way to manage my time and remember everything that's going on that I could reference back later. Thanks for making this, and oh my, here's my favorite part.

What got me is that it remembered what I did yesterday, congrats!
